HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hey Everybody,
Tallahassee is a great city. Jason and I are having a blast and a half down here in sunny Florida. Life is amazing when God's blanket of blessing and protection is over it. Praise Him for all He has done, is doing and is about to do.
Christmas was WONDERFUL! Jason and I woke up at about 6 am and took our churches disaster unit to a near by park to feed the homeless. We ended up feeding, clothing and giving toys to 250 needy people and one dog. It was amazing! It was the best way ever to spend Christmas and God's hand was all over that operation.
We have the majority of the next week off and then we head into the first year of our Salvation Army Mission Specialist positions. We're also starting a severe weight loss and active lifestyle plan beginning the first day of 2005 so keep your eyes open for a fitter, hotter Kathy...(I know what you're thinking....She's already TOO SEXY!...hee,hee) 2005 is going to be a great year.
I miss everyone so much and keep you in my prayers. I can't wait to see everyone again soon!
Congratulations Harvey and Tracey and your new baby! And Nevin and Sarah on your engagement! Maybe I'll make it to this wedding...Since I missed everybody else's!
Take care everyone, I'll update soon!

We have landed

We made it to Tallahassee, Florida safe and sound. God was amazing to us. We drove down on Thanksgiving weekend and hit 0 traffic! It was incredible. Plus when we got to the border in our U-Haul, we didn't even have to get out of the truck! It was a great trip down and we had a fantastic time in New York for Thanksgiving with Jason's family.
We're really enjoying the city. There's about 150,000 people and alot of students. We've got Florida State University, Palm trees and Jeb Bush. What more could you ask for?
We've been working our buns off at the Salvation Army corps since the second we got here. After all, "Tis the season!" Christmas is BRUTAL in the Salvation Army, so we've been working kettles and angel trees and Christmas parties Oh my! It's been nice to be busy, but phew!
The corps here has alot of potential. There is no homeless shelter or feeding program or college ministry so we're going to be starting all of that over the next two years. There are about 800 homeless people in this city which is alot for a city this small, and there is only 1 shelter!
We've got a church full of kids so we're going to be having alot of fun programs. Keep us in your prayers. We know God has big plans for Tallahassee, Florida. Jason has already started a canteen ministry, feeding the homeless hot meals out of our disaster unit (which is like a big kitchen on wheels). Our first official run will be in a few weeks. We're going to be serving a Christmas meal at the local park where all the homeless people live, and hopefully they'll stick around to hear the gospel. It's so exciting, and such a blessing.
We're settled into an apartment, slowly but surely unpacking everything AGAIN! The officers here are excellent. They are young and enthusiastic, fresh out of training college with the same ideas and passion that we have. It's going to be awesome.
Pray for our ministry, for our SANITY, for our safety (we're not located in the best part of town) and mostly for God's will to be done here in Tallahassee, Florida.
Did I mention how BEAUTIFUL and WARM it is here on DECEMBER 6th!! Sorry Canadian friends!
The kitty cats did great during the move. They are enjoying their new home.
I miss everyone SO much. I'll be sure to keep you all updated but until then, I'm signing off.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Tomorrow...we move!!!

Tomorrow is the big day. We hit the road for Tallahassee, Florida! Actually we're going as far as Oswego, NY for thanksgiving with Jason's parents. Isn't it silly that those Americans celebrate Thanksgiving late every year!
From there we travel to Washington, D.C on Friday, Florence, SC on Saturday and Tallahassee, Florida on Sunday. YEAH PALM TREES!!!
It's going to be a tricky weekend driving since all Americans will be on the road. Pray for a safe journey! And I'll post more later after we arrive!
God Bless!!!

Oh my...life is crazy!

Well, I tried this blog thing before...but I never really did anything with it...but since I am headed for a new chapter in life, I thought it would be a good idea to start it again. That way, people may not be as confused as to where I am!
Well let me bring people up to speed. I am married to an amazing man and we have been married since September 26th, 2003. What a great day! From that September to the following September we lived in Greenville, South Carolina. I was working for the Salvation Army as the Director of Youth and Music. It was a great job, and I got to do alot of great things. I grew incredible amounts in my understanding of Christ and the world. It was truly rewarding. Although my job was going well, Jason and I weren't feeling at home in Greenville so we decided, after a rejuvinating week in Colorado, that we would pack up and move to Canada.
Jason was offered a job in management with a fitness retail company in St. Catharines, Ontario. I was ecstatic about going back to the frozen tundra. We packed up and moved to Canada. At the Canadian border, an immigration officer told Jason that he was approved and legal to work in Canada so we came in, set up residence and got comfortable. To our dismay, we received a phone call a week later saying that Jason's status was changed from accepted to pending. For 26 days we waited and prayed for God's will to be done and then got the news that he was denied. Here we were, stuck in a country where we couldn't even function. This forced us to our knees in prayer and God, after two and a half months, delievered us from this desert.
We received a phone call from The Salvation Army officers in Tallahassee, Florida who desperatly wanted us to come down and join their team. So that's exactly what we're going to do!
We leave for Florida in two days to take positions as Salvation Army mission specialists.
This whole experience taught me so many amazing things about God and his timing and how important it is to go the way he pushes you. He's got my best interests at heart and obviously wants me to have a tan....well I'm sure there is more than that in store.
You'll have to visit regularly to find out more.....
