Congrats Kathryn on you're little bundle of fetus.

I'm SO happy for you.

I Miss You

To everyone I love who is nowhere near me....I miss you.
I think I will always feel like a foreigner here. Don't get me wrong, I love me life. I don't mind being in the USA...in fact, the south feels like home to Jay and I cause it's all we've ever known together but there are moments, like this moment, when I feel very far away from the people and things that define me.
I love my life and wouldn't change it...not even a fraction of it. I preface what I am about to say with this because I am not in anyway about to wish that my life was different but sometimes I wonder what would have happened 'if'.
What would have happened if I didn't move to St. John's at 18? What would have happened if I wasn't in Blind Beggars? Man, those were good times. The gigs, the road trips, the all-nighters, the SNL parties at our apartment on Crosbie Road. So many great relationships....so many people I miss. What if I hadn't heard about a Camp in North Carolina that hired Canadians? I wouldn't of met my husband...I wouldn't have my Son. I would probably still be in NL. Crazy to think that the tiniest decisions can completely manipulate where you end up. When I was at Camp my friend Damien told me to come with him to Nashville to try and make it big. I didnt go. He's incredibly successful now and I wonder what would have happened if I had went. I'm so proud of him. Especially the first night I was watching Tv and saw him on the red carpet with Loretta Lynn. Funny combo if you know Damien but a great moment just the same.
What would have happened if I listened to all the people who told me that getting married was a mistake? What would have happened if I had listened to all the people who told me that moving back to Tallahassee just for a church was irresponsible? There are many decisions I am glad that I made. Jay is exactly who God has for me and Caden's timing could not have been more perfect even if we had planned him ourselves! Tallahassee is about as far from home as I can be but even when it's hard, I know we're suppose to be here. I know we're suppose to be at GC even though the transition has been incredibly rough on eveyone, more so my husband than myself.
I miss my college friends and living in St. John's...sometimes I feel like the oldest 23 year old on the planet....but I was born to be a mom even though I usually fit in better as one of the boys than into a mom's club. It's funny when people I haven't seen in years find out that I was not only married a month after I turned 20 but that I am also a mom. I was always flying solo...pretty independent and verbalized quite frequently that I intended to remain that way for a long time. I planned on marrying at 30 and having children much later, if at all. Crazy how my plan was totally wrong for me. Caden's life has taught me so much about my strengths.
Thank you Lord for my life....past, present and future.
Aquaintances and superficial friendships are common...but friends are rare gems. To all my friends that are far away...I love you and miss you. To all my friends in Tallahassee, I love you and am so thankful for you.

Best Sex Ever Reactions

This is an email Pastor Hunter received about the Best Sex Ever billboards (refer to earlier entry to see the billboard)

"I think your billboard advertising is stupid and pathetic. I am sick of seeing that ridiculous billboard and I cant believe the City of Tallahassee would allow that. What about curious children who have innocent minds. Why do they have to be forewarned about the evils of sex at their age? I enjoy sex more than anybody and I am a good man and a fine Christian, but that type of billboard ad just plain sucks. Go stick your head where the sun don't shine. Your head deserves to be there. "

It seems as though the people who are most outraged by us talking about sex in church are other Christians. I'm boggled by it. My mind is completely boggled as to how people can think that a message about saving sex for marriage is disgusting and inappropriate. It floors me that people can be so ignorant about the world that children have to grow up in....I guess I've become so passionate about this because I am now the mother of a boy...a boy who at 11 months old is ALREADY blasted with sexual images everytime I turn on the tv and there's a commercial for shampoo or even board games....sex is EVERYWHERE with the wrong message and the wrong images effecting children, MY child, in the wrong way and it makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm going to be incredibly candid. My mother told me about sex at a VERY early age. So early that I really don't even remember the conversation. I knew what sex was, what it was meant for (marriage) and what the bible said about it when I was in primary school and because of that I avoided alot of heartbreak, alot of bad decisions and alot of pain. I also was able to ignore the playground education I heard from other kids and avoided alot of confusion. Respecting myself, saving myself for marriage and keeping myself pure were lessons that were drilled into my head, lovingly, my entire childhood and I am a better person because of it. My marriage is healthier because of it. My child was born into a home where his parents are married and inlove with one another...where there will be no divorce or abuse...there are no half brothers and sisters all over planet earth...he wasn't born with HIV or any other complications due to STD's....all because someone took the time to talk to me about sex God's way when I was a little child...tastefully, honestly and biblically. I absolutly credit the positive upbringing I received. I wish the church had been mature enough to raise me in the same way that my parents did. I think alot of other children would have benefited from it.

These billboards are an EXCELLENT conversation starter for Christian parents to take advantage of when their kids say, "What's that?"
The innocence of children should be maintained by giving them a spiritual education on what sex is suppose to be. Honestly, would'nt you rather that your kids learn about sex in church or from you then on the playground or MTV? Unless your child doesn't watch tv, doesn't go outside, doesn't listen to the radio, doesn't surf the internet and doesn't interact with other people, they are GOING to be blasted with sexual slang, images, and lies from all the wrong places. We can't close our eyes and pretend this issue doesn't exist....we've done that for too long and look at our world because of it?

I for one am not going to "stick my head where the sun don't shine" because I'd much rather be in the light.

We made it on the news!

The local news came out Sunday to check out the start of genesischurch.tv's new message series "Best Sex Ever." You can see the 2 minute video at the link below...if you don't blink, you'll see me!

Shame on you!

These are the billboards that our church (genesischurch.tv) currently has up all over town. Pastor Hunter is doing a messge series about having sex God's way. As in, keeping it in marriage between a man and a woman. Over the next 4 weeks he is going to be teaching us about what the Word says about sex and how to live God's way in a world that says the opposite. He is going to speak about homosexuality, pornography, pre-marital sex, adultery and everything else you can think of that normal people struggle with and have no idea how to cope with in a biblical manner. It is a brilliant message series that absolutly needs to be spoken candidly, tastefully and honestly...and he is doing just that.
I knew it was a gutsy move for Pastor Hunter to do this message series and to advertise it like this...but I also knew that it would get people's attention, and that we probably wouldn't be able to fit all of the people into the auditorium on Sunday morning...but I didn't expect what a stir these bill boards and this series would have in our city. If you go to the link www.bestsexever.org, it brings you to our church's website and explains the message series. It's meant to look entriguing to the unbeliever...it's meant to look like something an average Joe would want to check out...what they get is anything but pornography....they get an invitation to church. Pretty awesome right?
Well alot of people in our city don't seem to think so. Especially the other churches. Pastor Hunter read an email out loud in the service on Sunday that he received from a fellow 'brother in Christ'. It said that we were to be ashamed of ourselves...that our church was a sign of the end times and that the only reason anyone would come to our church would be if they were looking for an orgy....another woman wrote and was appauled that her 8 year old had to see these images on billboards....as if that child isn't bombarded with disgusting sexual images everyday just by using a computer and watching television commercials.
I say to anyone who has a problem with this to get a life. I think this message series is not only appropriate but necessary. I think it is going to have an impact on the rate of teen pregnancy, abortion, STD's, AIDS, divorce, sexual abuse and adultery in the city of Tallahassee and who knows where else. For once a homosexual person who is alone and confused can come to church and learn how to face this cross they have upon their shoulders..they can learn that God wants something better for them...not that they are hated and disgusting. I think church is exactly where our kids need to be learning about sex...better there then on the playground..cause as sad as it is, 8 year olds know way too much about the wrong kind of sex and it's our job to teach them a better way....and if people come to our church looking for an orgy and they get Jesus instead..I say AMEN to that!
So if you wanna hear a great message about the best sex ever, the sex that God created and how to live with purity in a dirty world, check out www.bestsexever.org

Ok Ladies, I need your help.

As I last posted, I'm just getting my Mary Kay business off the ground, and am going to need the help of anyone who is in need of facial care!
I know I don't live anywhere near the majority of you, so here's what I am asking.
I need to make as many sales as I can by February 9th (a week from today) in order to receive some much needed product for free. The free inventory is going to help me greatly with my business so I'm really hoping I can do well over the next 8 days.
If anyone is in need of make up, face wash, lip gloss, or ANYTHING! Please go to www.marykay.com/kathylynnstock and take a look around. It's my online store. You can do virtual makeovers, browse specials, and find whatever you need for skin care. If there are any guys out there who are in need of a Valentines gift for their woman, shoot me an email at kathylynnstock@marykay.com and you can purchase a gift certificate that your lady can redeem at the website or in person (depending on how close you are in proximity to me.
So just check it out. I only signed up for this because the products are awesome and inexpensive and I would'nt associate myself with something that wasn't any good. Plus, it's always fun to shop in the privacy of your own home or office. If you order more than $30.00 worth, I will throw in the shipping charges myself. Hopefully I'll hit my goal by Feburary 9th.
Thanks friends!

Hello. My name is Kathy Stock and I am an independent beauty consultant with Mary Kay cosmetics. You may log onto my personal website at www.marykay.com/kathylynnstock or you may contact me at anytime at kathylynnstock@marykay.com
Help me help you feel fabulous!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ok, a little bit of a cheesy oversell, but I did actually sign up with Mary Kay and am excited about what will come of it. I've already gotten some offers to do facials and sell products so I'm off to a good start. Hopefully I can have fun while making some extra money and having something that is mine where I can dress in something that is not covered in baby drool.
Wish me luck!

State of the Union Address

I was going to count how many times G.W. said the word 'terror' to entertain myself while my television was taken hostage by this yearly political event but I actually got slightly wrapped up in what was going on. I'm not a republican. I'm not a democrat. Legally, I'm not even able to vote given my citizenship, but I'm not sure that I would even if I could. Not because I don't have opinions and not because I am complacent in the direction of the nation I live in, but because I really have not yet been moved to follow any of the "leaders" I have ever seen run for office.

Politics is just so laced with lies and broken promises that I have little faith in the whole mess. I really don't know enough to speak strongly on anything the President spoke about tonight, except for health care...and his solution did little to impress me.

I began to drift off into my own world when he began talking about the war and the extra troops they are sending into Bagdhad. I didn't think about the strategy or even the long term goals of congress....I thought about the families who have loved ones in a foreign and scary place. I can't even imagine having my husband gone for months and months on end..let alone if he was gone to fight in a war torn country. I praise God that he has given me the ability to have empathy for people who are in situations I may never experience or fully understand. My heart goes out to them.

On a lighter note, my husband just suggested that Condaleza (spelled completely wrong) Rice resembles a cling-on.

George W. also touched on "The Baby Einstein" series creator which made me very happy. God bless that woman. They recognized her for her contribution to childhood education and her entrepreneurship. I recognize her for creating something that allows me to get a shower in peace.

So G.W. says he's going to balance the federal budget, create more jobs, decrease the need for oil and stop depending on foreign countries for their production of it. He recognized heroes, ran his mouth about health care reform and said the word terror approximately 23 times.

What a week. Finances and a teething baby have made this week more than stressful. It seems to be that way for most everyone I talk to. My prayers go out to everyone who has sickness in their family, who is sick themselves, who is mourning the loss of a loved one, who is being struck with financial burdens that they didn't expect.
I'm not one to blame Satan for my problems, but I think he is having a field day with our emotions, trying to get us to live by them. I encourgage anyone reading this who had a hard week to take a deep breath and thank God for it. It'll make you stronger.

Yesterday was my husbands birthday and we went to see a movie in a real theater for the first time in about a year. Big thanks to Micah for babysitting at the last minute. You rock my friend.
We went to see "The Pursuit of Happyness." It's one of those movies that you can't stop thinking about the day after. It was amazing and I think everyone should go see it or rent it as soon as it comes out. It is a story of how desperation can assist us in overcoming anything. Lack of resources, money, education....I found myself becoming mentally tired just watching one mans struggle to succeed in a world that isn't fair. The fact that he had to take care of not only himself but his 5 year old son in the midst of poverty and homelessness was just heart breaking to me.

When Jason and I worked for the Salvation Army, we got to see first hand the poor within our own city. I remember becoming very emotionally involved with a family in our homeless shelter in Greenville, SC. The husband stayed in the men's shelter which was 60 beds in a large room and the mother with her 3 children (ages 3,4 and 5) stayed in the family shelter where they shared a room with a couple of other women and had to be out of the shelter between the hours of 8 and 5. This encouraged the women to look for work, but this woman didn't have that luxury with 2 children younger than school age and one in kindergarden...so they would sit at a picnic table on the parkinglot under a tarp day in and day out. For about an hour a day the whole family would gather under the tarp and play. Then the two parents would kiss eachother goodbye and go to their seperate shelters. She would try her best to entertain the kids and her attitude was phenomial in the begining. After weeks of this I could physically see her spirit dying in the expressions on her face.
I remember going home to my apartment at night praying for them and praising God for my blessings.
I'm not arrogant enough to think that God put them in that position just to give me perspective, but it did none the less.
I often wonder where they are now.

So at the end of a long, LONG week, God has once again given me a gentle reminder that I have SO much to be thankful for. Even though there's little if any money left after the bills are paid, God has provided my husband with a great job and the abilities to excel in his field. He's given him the ability to make good decisions and effectively provide for his family. Though we will have to do without some things for a couple of years, God has given us the resources for me to be with my Son everyday. Our home may be an apartment but it's consistent and warm and it has everything we need.

At the end of a long week there's nothing I hate more than someone deminishing my struggles... afterall, sometimes you just need time to wallow in the garbage that life dumps on you, but it does help to take a deep breath and focus on all that is good around you. I hope this brings encouragement to people who need it at the end of a long week.

Photo Update

A little tangled up at the moment

PRICELESS! HAHAHAHA!

Nap time is over!

Caden now cries and whines to play the keyboard...I smell a child prodogy

Baby's first Mohawk

It was hard to leave a face like this

Bored on the plane

These shoes are the devil!

Callin a cab
Up close and personal

It's time to PARTY!

Our trip to Southern Florida was FUN! We had such a great time.

Things started out rocky because the person who was suppose to watch Caden called Sunday morning sounding very miserable and said she was sick but would be more than happy to still watch him if we didn't mind. I didn't so much care about Caden catching a bug as much as I did this poor woman having to take care of two babies while feeling like poo, so I frantically searched for an alternative. Luckily, we found one and the Philips family gladly took Caden to their house after church where apparently they all had a glorious time.

We got to Fort Lauderdale around 2:00pm and once at our hotel we simmered for a while in the hot tub and Jay watched a little football while I made fun of football. Then we got ready and headed to his company party at the Blue Martini. It was a NICE place. Jay wouldn't put the camera in his pocket and I didn't have a purse that matched my dress so we didn't get any pictures of the actual place, but it was pretty swanky.

We met all of Jay's co-workers and his boss's. I was SO proud of him after hearing from everyone what an amazing job he is doing in the Tallahassee store. It was like he was known by reputation before we even met everybody. He'd introduce himself to people and they would be like, "You're the guy in Tallahassee?!?!? You're doing great up there man!!!" It was comforting to see how much he is valued as an employee and it gave me an even greater appreciation for him and his abilities. His boss pulled me aside to tell me how great of a guy he is and to let me know that things are only going to get better for him. Praise Jesus!

When we got there they handed us little gold cards to cash in for chips and they had several black jack tables set up in every corner. At the end of the night they had prizes for the top six chip holders. Let me just say that although I didn't win anything, I am a SERIOUS black jack player. I went from 2500 perverbial dollars to 10,000 in record time. I ended up with 13,300 but the top players were a bunch of cheaters so I didn't win anything but it was alot of fun. I know one thing... I will NEVER gamble with real money because I have the potential to be an addict. It was too much fun. I was doing all the pro gambler moves, tapping the table and sweepin the cars. Rackin up the big bucks...well...not really...there was no actual money involved which is better for my soul and my families financial future :)

The food was fabulous, the blues band was amazing and the people were really great. We had a wonderful time.We got back today at around 12:30pm and now we're relaxing at home. I learned several things during my 24 hour vacation:

1) Where God closes a door, he opens a window

2) I am SO happy and fulfilled in being a stay-at-home mom. I work harder than I ever have before and I get to spend every moment with a precious gift from God who is just amazing. As much as I needed the break, I missed him terribly. We definitly could use the money from a second income but I will work as hard as I can to help provide for my family while continuing to be with him.I don't know how, but I'll figure it out. I just feel like I am suppose to. God has shown me my purpose through my family.

3) I can tease my hair to give it lift.

4) Cab drivers in the Fort Lauderdale, Miami area are CRAZY drivers.

5) I have an incredible husband who is doing an amazing job at taking care of his family. I couldn't be prouder. It's disgusting how much I love my boys.

6) I am a force to be reckoned with at the black jack table.

Curse of the Spotted Baby

Caden was attacked in his sleep by some kind of vicious bug. Several people scurried away from us when we were out running errands today...I heard one man say, "...Chicken pox..." under his breath. Luckily it is not because they are only on his face and two on his hand. He hasn't developed anymore and after a nice slathering of hydrocortizone he is now resting comfortably with little itching. Poor little man.

Jason and I are going to a company party in Miami next week. A wonderful woman from church has agreed to watch Caden overnight for us and Jay's company is flying us to Miami for a Christmas party at 'The Blue Martini.' I'll try not to get to wasted....jokes....anyone who knows me knows the difference. In fact i'm not really sure that I know the difference between a martini and a margarita...I'll just down one diet pepsi after another.

I bought a new dress for the occasion today. Got a beautiful, flowy dark purple dress and some black shoes at Ross for 30 bucks total! I am the bargain queen.

It's going to be nice to get away for a while. They are putting us up in a nice hotel and apparently there are some sweet door prizes like ipods and stuff. I'm excited. Jay deserves this big time. He has been working so hard ever since we came here. I hope he gets recognized for all he's done. He's really turned this store around.

I hate football. I am probably more excited for the super bowl than anyone because it marks the end of the professional football season. Bring on February 4th!

This is the face I usually make when Jay has been watching football for 4 hours straight....

Don't be jealous of my hot red lipstick!

Mmmmm...Green Tea

Okay, If anyone is looking for a caffeine free alternative for enegry, look no further then Green Tea. Seriously. I have completely turned my apartment upside down, cleaning, organizing, sorting and I have SO much energy! It's crazy. I started drinking Green Tea on Monday. Yesterday was the first day I didn't have any and I felt like poo all day. Green Tea is a magical happy drink that won't complicate your morality or mess up your body. Get some. Put some splenda in it. It's delicious!
Caden woke up yesterday with red spots all over his face and two on his hand. I think something got on him in the night and bit him. I checked all though his crib and room last night and couldn't find anything so I put him down and this morning he woke up with two more on his face. They aren't anywhere that his pajamas cover so I know it's not chicken pox...but the poor little thing looks like a leopard. I've taken everything out of his crib and am washing it all...hopefully whatever it is won't survive the washer and dryer. I was going to go walking with him but I don't want people to run in fear of his bumpiness. We're laying low at home today.
I had three very healthy days. Yesterday was Jay's day off so we split a double doozie cookie from the Great American Cookie place in the mall and had some fried chicken for dinner. I've decided that I am going to relax on the day's Jay is off, but every other day I am going to be very strict. That way I am treating myself once a week and that's more of a lifestyle than a diet. My problem is that I start off strong and say no to everything and then two weeks in I crash and eat a plate of brownies...If I allow myself once weekly treats, I won't be so likely to throw my hands up and say, "I HATE HEALTHY EATTING!" We'll see.
I have rearranged my living room and I love it. It's so much more open and inviting. I love a good rearrange. I've also managed to find three bags and a box of stuff to give to the goodwill. It's crazy. We've moved so much that I thought I had purged through everything we couldn't possibly want or need but everytime I purge there's more to give/throw away. It's insane how much junk you can accumulate.
Well I should go eat lunch while Caden is sleeping and "What not to wear" is on.
By the way, if anyone wants to secretly sign my up for that show I would not be offended. I would be very grateful. Help a sister out.

A Good Start

Yesterday was a great day....today is also a great day! I'm feeling very motivated to start fresh this new year. My last entry was kind of un-motivating but I have since had a change of heart and am feeling very upbeat and positive about making some small but momentous life changes. The fitness and right eating routine began today...I said goodbye last night with a caramel chocolate bar and a bag of party mix....Mmmmm.
Today I am saying hello to salads, broccoli, squash and salmon. Caden and I went to Lake Ella and walked 2 miles. Caden enjoyed the ducks, turtles, mini-alligators and strange looking stork-like birds. My hip and back are a bit sore from the excursion but I figure it's better to work through the pain and get some of the excess weight off which I'm sure isn't making my elderly self feel any better....Why did God bless me with a 90 year old frame?
Yesterday our Pastor began a series on Money...about Debt and how we are all victims of bondage if we have it. It was the greatest punch in the face I have received in a long time. It really got me thinking about our financial situation and Jay and I have created a plan to tackle some of the debt we have, which praise God isn't much. I think sometimes it is easy to live life feeling like all of the bills you owe and things you need are just swarming around your head. It can be very overwhelming...but we have decided to do without now so that we can reap the benefits later and we're really excited about it. We've already developed a plan to pay off some debt by the end of this month! It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're given the proper tools, accountability and motivation.
This is why I LOVE my church...practical life lessons God's way. Seriously, if anyone wants to be challenged beyond belief and taught by a very educated and blessed teacher of God, check out www.genesischurch.tv. Click on GC media.
So I'm feeling really good. Organized, energized, healthier and more positive..Ok I know it's only the first but I'm really on task and that's a good feeling. Jay as been selling like a mad man today with the New Years Day sale. Caden is in a good mood today and went straight to sleep when I put him down for his nap. We went to the grocery store to buy healthy food and we laughed and acted silly the entire time...people probably thought I was a crazy person but I have so much fun with him. I just made a rockin salad and am drinking a bottle of water....for anyone who knows me, water+kathy=nasty...but I added some crystal light and I am enjoying it!
Life is good. 2007 is going to be fantastic. I'm going to be hot and rich...haha.

Happy New Year

A brand new year is quickly approaching...what will it hold?
I'll probably attempt to loose weight and fail two weeks into it, realizing I like food more than smaller sizes.
I will start and not finish alot of books.
I'll try to be more organized with my money, time and schedule only to continue on in the frazzled state that is my life.
I will try to remember everyones birthdays and anninversaries only to be one up-ed by my sister everytime....as Dr. Claw would say to Inspector Gadget, "Someday I'll get you, Melissa!"
I will hopefully not move anywhere...unless we buy a house.
I made a list of resolutions that I will try to adhere to so we'll see what happens.
The great thing is that when I am feeling down on myself, like I can never do anything right or like I've never accomplished anything....when I look dispairingly at my resume and lack of education and realize aside from playing the piano, I have no skills whatsoever....I see my handsome little man. I have a tickle fight with him and we laugh hysterically together and he makes me feel like I'm the most important person in the world. He looks at me like I am the smartest, coolest, most fantastic person he has ever known, and it makes all my shortcomings dissapear into the abyss.
So, above all the diets I will fail and birthdays I will forget, I will be the best mom and wife I can be and be confident in knowing that to my God, my Husband and my Son, I am somebody.

Family, Friends, Fun and LOTS of Food.

What a great Christmas. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Even though Caden was more interested in the dogs food bowl then the hundreds of presents that lay before him, he made out like a serious bandit.
We got our Christmas tree on December 22. We decorated and made Christmas cookies. Jay was never a very Christmasy person but I think Caden brought out his Christmas spirit this year.
Caden was spoiled rotten by his grandparents and it was great. His favorite things so far are both toys that Amy and Juan gave him, which are a baby sized drum with sticks and shakers and a doggy who sings and teaches the parts of the body. Caden dances like a fool when that dog sings. It's hilarious.
Dancing and clapping are his latest accomplishments. He LOVES music. We brought him to the mall to 'see' Santa (not sit with Santa because Santa was ridiculously expensive) and every store we went in he would dance to the music. He would sway to the slow songs and rock out to the fast ones. I smell a musician in the family... For Jay's sake I hope he likes sports too.
He also has tooth number two coming in, so there is a matching set inside of his mouth.
Jay had Christmas eve and Christmas day off. It was awesome to spend that much time together. It's been a long time since he's had two days off in a row. He gave me a back massager (which really helps with the back pain) and I gave him a leather motorcycle jacket that hasn't arrived yet....grrrrr....I had to make him a card with a rhyme inside explaining why it was late. He didn't care...he's just VERY excited to receive it, especially since a cold front came through on Christmas eve and it's now very chilly here. I love it!
Jay received a Tim Hortons Coffee maker from my parents and we received a date night curtousy of Jay's parents. My sister sent us gift cards to The Gap...I'm excited to use them cause I never go shopping.
Amy and Juan were here and we watched about 100 episodes of the original Degrassi Junior High cause Amy got the box set for Christmas. We cooked a turkey and had an awesome Christmas feast complete with stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, corn, gravy, dinner rolls and way too much chocolate for dessert.
All in all it was a fantastic Christmas. One of those days that make you sad when it's over. At least it brings us another day closer to next Christmas!
Enjoy some pics!

Owie

I've written before about my hip/back problems....well lately they have been dreadful. It stinks to be so young and feel so old. It also stinks to have to pay so much for a chiropractor and a physical therapist and still feel the same way. Pain is no fun. It makes you sad and irritable. Picking Caden up and lowering him into his crib is really hard...and with Jason working from 9-8 everyday, I don't have much of a choice. Pray for a spiritual and permanent spine adjustment to take place.
For anyone who hasn't yet heard about Gary Cook, pray for him also. He is doing well physically, but was in a car wreck in which another car hit him head on. The driver of the other car passed away (he was 20 years old) and although Gary had no fault in the accident, he must be really shaken up right now so praise God for his safety and pray for him.
Caden has an ear infection which came with an order of high fever and a side of hacking cough but thanks to anti-biotics, he is doing much better. It was a long week of being trapped at home, but thankfully he is back to his old, happy-go-lucky self.
Amy is coming for Christmas. This makes me VERY happy. She is coming on Friday and leaving on Monday or Tuesday. Juan suprised her with a trip to Tallahassee for Christmas so that home wouldn't seem so far away during the holidays. Last year, Amy, Juan, Kristy, Desmond and Murray all came over on Christmas night for cooked dinner and cake. Good times. Oh how I miss everyone....
It's hard to find friends like the ones I've had the priveledge of having in my life. I'm the kind of person who needs to be around people ALL the time...I seriously hate it when visitors have to leave or when social engagements come to an end. My friend Julie and I were talking about this the other day...how we miss having the people around us who we feel comfortable enough with to invite ourselves over and take off our shoes and lounge on their couch. How there is nothing wrong with getting together on a spur of the moment, throwing some dinner together and laughing till the wee hours of the morning.
Friends...I miss you.
I hope everyone has an awesome Christmas. I'll post some pictures of the festivities a little later on.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Some pictures

The Making of a masterpiece

The day after the masterpiece was created, a dog attacked the village and left nothing but one wall and half a roof standing.

Caden thought this was very funny

"I pity da fool who messes with Baby Caden!"

Here's Caden recovering from his ear infection. After a week of fevers, ear aches and runny noses, he's finally on the mend.

Up or Down

It's amazing how after talking to certain people you can feel enlightened and positive and after talking to others you can feel negative and disgruntled. I've been noting that about myself after reading several blogs today. Some really added things to my life in a positive way, empowering me and inspiring me to be better. Some have been entertaining with pictures and stories about people and what's going on in their lives. Others have been incredibly deflating and negative. More have been boring and long winded, wordy and pompous. Some have been educational and thought provoking...It's really amazing.
I didn't realize how much reading blogs and interacting with people can alter your mood and your day, depending on whether the experience was negative or positive. It's really quite amazing when you sit back and think about it.
Are the people you interact with (either through blogs, email, phone calls or in person) a positive thing in your life or a negative one? Are you a positive person or are you bringing people down?
I'm going to make an effort to breathe positivity into people rather then strip them of it. The power of your words is really an incredible thing....

What's New

I haven't actually written anything in a while. There's been too much cuteness to share since I got my new camera. Caden has been feeling pretty bad these last couple of days so we've taken a camera break. He had a fever of 105 which supposedly is not as serious as it sounds for a baby but he felt like her was on fire. His fever is down a lot now but he still isn't 100%. Hopefully he'll be better by the weekend.

Christmas is quickly approaching. Amy and Juan are coming here for Christmas. I am VERY excited about this. It's going to be great to see them again. I have pretty much every one's presents except for Jay's and I know what I'm getting him so it's all good. Christmas is the one time of year that I am actually on the ball with gifts and cards. Every other birthday or anniversary you probably won't receive anything from me...but Christmas, I'm on top of it!

I've gotten on a brownie kick. I've been making them and eating them a lot. Not good for the waistline....I'll just make another New Years Resolution to loose weight. That way I'll feel better when I gorge during the Christmas season, I'll diet for the first two weeks of January and fluctuate within the same 10 pound bracket just like I always do for the rest of 2007 until I promise myself I'm going to be fit in 2008. It's a vicious cycle...but what can I say? I love me some brownies. I love brownies more than I love single digit sizes.

I was watching the biggest looser last night and was getting pretty emotional. The winner lost a total of over 200 pounds. He went from a morbidly obese, diabetic to a fit, triathlon runner. It must be amazing to reach a goal like that. I coveted his success....and ate a brownie to make myself feel better :) Maybe 2007 will finally be the year that I loose this 25 pounds....here's to hoping.

Well I should get back to my laundry. I am on a roll today. Usually my laundry basket consistently looks like the picture below...and no matter how many cycles I do, I never make a dent. Tonight our hamper will be empty! That I can guarantee!
